Hence, the marathon and not a sprint approach to your weight loss will result in the most likely success. No need to rush to get to the finish line only to find out that you did not take the time to learn what it took you to get there in the first place.

As I mentioned earlier, the extra pounds didn’t just magically appear overnight, it was mostly likely the half a dozen donuts or large pizza you regularly ate over the years that simply added up. Whether you know it or not, the only way to lose weight is to eliminate more calories than you are bringing into your body on a daily basis.

This is why portion size will become your new best friend and you will soon realize that it is not necessarily what you are eating, but rather how much of everything that is the biggest culprit to your weight gain over the years. Chances are you have know idea about what the nutritional value of the foods you eat and how much the maker of the food says you should be eating.

Everything you buy from the grocery store of corner market has the nutritional information stamped on the side. The correct portion size for that item is clearly marked. If you take the time to read and understand the information that you have, you will see that you can lose the weight. Just treat it as a marathon, slow and steady wins the race.
